ZetaChain Introduces Private AI Inference Through ZETA Access

ZetaChain has launched ZETA Access, a new utility that lets users lock ZETA tokens to access AI models through Anuma without signing up with an email, phone number or credit card. The system turns a crypto wallet into the user’s access credential while connecting ZETA directly to AI usage, making it the first live AI-focused utility for the token.

The feature forms part of ZetaChain’s broader repositioning around private AI memory, identity and permissions. In its official ZETA Access announcement, the project says users can lock as little as 0.01 ZETA, earn Anuma Tokens while the assets remain locked and redeem those tokens for AI credits. Users retain ownership of their locked ZETA, although unlocking requires a 21-day waiting period.

Wallet Identity Replaces a Traditional AI Subscription

ZETA Access operates inside Anuma, ZetaChain’s multi-model AI application. Instead of creating a conventional platform account, users connect an EVM-compatible wallet and use that identity to access supported models. The design reduces the amount of conventional identifying information required to enter the service, while Anuma’s encrypted memory system is intended to keep persistent user context under user control.

The privacy model, however, differs depending on which AI model a user selects. Anuma’s official privacy information says open-source models operate with zero data retention, while requests sent to closed-source providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic or Google still require the relevant message and context to reach those providers’ servers. ZETA Access therefore should not be interpreted as guaranteeing that every AI provider is technically unable to see the plaintext submitted for inference.

Instead, Anuma says its full memory profile remains encrypted and that models receive only the context authorized for a particular interaction. Closed-source providers can apply their own retention policies to information they receive, but they do not receive the user’s complete memory vault. The practical privacy advantage centers on limiting identity disclosure and controlling persistent context rather than making every external model invocation completely opaque.

ZETA Gains a Direct AI Access Function

The token mechanism also creates a different economic model from a conventional monthly subscription. Locked ZETA currently accrues rewards at a stated 12% annual rate in nontransferable Anuma Tokens, with one token redeemable for one AI credit. Users locking 80,000 ZETA can unlock Anuma Pro, while a separate $19.99 monthly card subscription remains available. ZetaChain is effectively using token locking as an alternative payment and access layer for AI services rather than requiring users to spend their principal ZETA.

ZetaChain describes private memory, permissions, identity, payments and agents as the core components of its developing AI stack, with several capabilities still listed as upcoming or under exploration. ZETA Access is live today, but the broader vision for decentralized inference, expanded permission controls and agent infrastructure remains a work in progress rather than a fully deployed system.
