BAYC Floor Returns Near 5.7 ETH as Mudwater Expands
BAYC trades near a 5.7 ETH floor as its May rebound fades, while Yuga Labs expands the ecosystem through Mudwater cards on Solana.

Bored Ape Yacht Club has surrendered much of the rebound that briefly doubled its floor price earlier this year, even as Yuga Labs expands the collection into new trading and gaming formats. BAYC’s floor currently sits near 5.7 ETH, down sharply from the more than 10 ETH reached during its May recovery, according to CoinGecko market data. The collection still has roughly 5,660 holder addresses, showing that falling prices have not been matched by a comparable contraction in wallet ownership.
ApeCoin has followed a similarly uneven path. The ecosystem token climbed from below $0.10 to roughly $0.16 during the May NFT rebound but is now trading around $0.11. The current market therefore looks materially different from the risk-on episode that drove the earlier BAYC repricing. Figge, who became Yuga Labs CEO in 2026, argued at the time that blue-chip collectibles had been oversold because prices had fallen much faster than participation.
Blue-Chip Activity Remains Concentrated
That distinction is important because NFT markets can generate substantial short-term volume without demonstrating broad collector expansion. Recent activity around Pudgy Penguins included a single wallet sweeping 26 NFTs, while earlier periods saw simultaneous increases across CryptoPunks and BAYC. Large purchases can lift volume and remove low-priced inventory from the market while leaving the breadth of underlying demand uncertain.
The same concentration effect has appeared around CryptoPunks. A previous 416% jump in CryptoPunks weekly volume included unusually large acquisitions, demonstrating why gross secondary turnover alone is insufficient evidence of a collection-wide recovery. Floor price, sales volume, holder addresses and unique buyers measure different dimensions of NFT-market activity and should not be treated interchangeably.
The broader market has nevertheless shown periods of stronger blue-chip activity. NFT sales previously accelerated across several major collections, with Ethereum retaining the largest share of dollar-denominated sales during that snapshot. BAYC’s current 5.7 ETH floor suggests that those bursts of demand have not recreated the 10 ETH pricing reached during May’s rally.
Mudwater Adds a New Layer to the BAYC Ecosystem
Yuga Labs is meanwhile extending BAYC beyond conventional Ethereum profile-picture trading through Mudwater, a physical-and-digital trading card system whose NFTs operate on Solana. Yuga’s official site now lists Mudwater alongside BAYC, MAYC and Otherside as one of its core collections. The product connects existing Bored Ape ownership with a new collectible market rather than simply creating another BAYC floor-price trade.
OpenSea currently shows Mudwater Packs at approximately $652,000 in cumulative trading volume, with Mudwater Cards near $301,500 and Boxes around $49,800. Combined marketplace turnover across those three categories has therefore exceeded $1 million, although those figures represent repeated secondary trading rather than revenue accruing directly to Yuga Labs.
Mudwater trades carry a 2.5% royalty plus a separate 2.5% reflection fee designed to purchase ApeCoin for distribution to Mudwater holders. The project also plans two-way conversion between physical and digital cards, allowing digital collectibles to be redeemed for stored physical cards and physical cards to be tokenized. Those conversion features remain part of the developing product structure rather than evidence of large-scale physical redemption activity.
BAYC’s current market therefore presents two different signals. Its floor price and ApeCoin have retreated substantially from their May peaks, while Yuga is creating additional ways for its existing intellectual property and holder base to interact with digital collectibles. The measurable expansion is currently occurring in product formats and secondary trading, not in a sustained return to the BAYC valuations reached during the earlier rebound.
