Sui announces Hashi for BTC DeFi infrastructure

Sui has introduced Hashi, a Bitcoin-focused infrastructure layer designed to let native BTC function as collateral inside the network’s decentralized finance ecosystem. The project is being positioned as a way to unlock Bitcoin-backed lending and credit markets without relying on wrapped tokens or conventional cross-chain bridges.

Hashi, Sui’s native Bitcoin finance primitive, has expanded its institutional coalition with Cumberland, Fluid and SwissBorg ahead of a global testnet scheduled for July 2026. The project is designed to let Bitcoin holders use BTC as collateral in on-chain financial markets while keeping the underlying asset connected to the Bitcoin network.
