Render Proposes Forth AI Gateway With RENDER Incentives

Render Network proposes RNP-024 to integrate Forth, a privacy-focused AI gateway using RENDER payments for access to multiple AI models.

Render Network has opened discussion on RNP-024, a proposal to develop and incentivize Forth, an AI routing layer designed to connect users, applications and autonomous agents with multiple model and compute providers through a single interface. The draft would turn Forth into a demand gateway for AI services while creating additional payment and usage incentives around RENDER.

According to the RNP-024 specification, Forth could route requests between privately controlled hardware, third-party AI providers, Render Network compute and future confidential-computing infrastructure. OTOY would lead development and production implementation. The system is intended to abstract model selection, authentication, metering, payments and infrastructure routing rather than require applications to integrate every AI provider separately.

That architecture resembles a broader shift among decentralized GPU networks toward providing higher-level AI services instead of raw compute alone. io.net has expanded IO Intelligence as a model-access layer, allowing external applications to direct inference requests toward distributed infrastructure through familiar APIs. Forth would add routing and payment orchestration while attempting to direct compatible workloads toward Render Network capacity.

RENDER Payments Are Incentivized, Not Mandatory

RNP-024 proposes wallet-native payments through the x402 protocol on Solana using either RENDER or USDC. Conventional card payments through MoonPay Commerce are also planned. Chat sessions would generally consume prepaid balances, while predictable-cost jobs such as media generation could settle separately.

RENDER would receive preferential economics without becoming the only accepted payment asset. The draft proposes a 1.10x reward multiplier for qualifying usage funded with RENDER, compared with 1.00x for USDC, fiat or other approved methods. Workloads executed through eligible Render Network compute would receive another proposed 1.25x multiplier.

The model connects Render to a rapidly expanding machine-payment stack. Algorand developers are already using x402 for autonomous pay-per-request services, while Ripple and Privy have integrated programmable XRPL wallets for agent payments. Forth differs by positioning payments alongside AI-model routing and GPU demand aggregation rather than primarily as a blockchain transaction interface.

The proposal would authorize up to 500,000 RENDER from existing Network growth and operations resources for a maximum 12-month incentive program. It would not raise the existing RENDER emissions cap. Monthly distributions would initially be capped at 50,000 RENDER and could not exceed the RENDER equivalent of 20% of qualifying paid Forth usage.

Privacy Depends on Which Route Handles the Workload

Forth’s privacy model is not uniform across every request. Private workloads can remain on user- or organization-controlled hardware, while anonymized cloud routing separates user identity from requests sent to external providers. Payment identity is also designed to remain separate from encrypted conversation history. Those protections do not mean every workload remains encrypted from every underlying model provider.

Future infrastructure could add trusted execution environments or other verifiable confidential-computing systems. That remains prospective functionality. Other networks are already pursuing this approach directly, including NEAR AI Cloud’s use of hardware-isolated confidential inference.

The incentive program would also attempt to avoid rewarding artificial activity. Free credits, refunded jobs, circular transactions and obvious farming would not count toward eligible spend, while the proposal requires public reporting on paid usage, RENDER-funded consumption, retention, Render compute jobs and eventual burn-and-mint activity.

RNP-024 remains a governance draft rather than an approved Render product rollout. If it progresses, production readiness, payment integrations and anti-Sybil infrastructure would come before an incentivized launch, with deeper Render compute routing and burn-and-mint integration planned for later stages. Its eventual significance will depend less on the 500,000 RENDER incentive ceiling than on whether Forth can generate recurring paid AI workloads that continue after those subsidies decline.
