WisdomTree and MoonPay are developing a new distribution route for the WisdomTree Treasury Money Market Digital Fund, expanding access to the tokenized mutual fund for eligible U.S. investors. WisdomTree is building an access point that will use MoonPay’s blockchain technology and network of more than 35 million accounts, extending WTGXX beyond the asset manager’s existing direct channels.
According to WisdomTree’s official announcement, MoonPay also plans to use WTGXX as part of its stablecoin reserve management, connecting regulated money-market exposure with infrastructure used across fiat and digital-asset payments. MoonPay’s network serves more than 1,700 partners, although the companies have not disclosed a launch date, reserve allocation or commercial terms.
WTGXX Connects Stablecoins With Treasury Exposure
WTGXX is an SEC-registered open-end Treasury money market fund structured under the Investment Company Act of 1940. The fund seeks to maintain a stable $1.00 net asset value while investing in cash, short-dated U.S. Treasury securities, Treasury-backed overnight repurchase agreements and government money market funds. Its investment strategy is also designed with eligible stablecoin-reserve requirements under the GENIUS Act in mind.
The planned MoonPay access point would shorten the route between digital dollars and the regulated fund. Eligible investors are expected to be able to use stablecoins to invest in WTGXX once the platform becomes operational, while WisdomTree Securities remains the fund’s distributor. MoonPay explicitly is not acting as broker-dealer or investment adviser for the product.
The collaboration arrives as tokenized U.S. Treasury products continue expanding on-chain. WTGXX illustrates how tokenized funds can connect yield-bearing traditional assets with blockchain-based payment and treasury systems, but its $1.00 NAV objective is not guaranteed and investors can lose principal.
MoonPay Adds WTGXX to Reserve Strategy
The reserve-management component gives the partnership an institutional dimension beyond retail distribution. MoonPay intends to incorporate WTGXX into its stablecoin reserve framework, but neither company has identified which stablecoin programs will use the fund or how much of their reserves will be allocated to it. The announcement therefore establishes the intended architecture rather than confirming a completed reserve deployment.
WisdomTree and MoonPay also said the relationship could expand to additional tokenized funds and markets outside the United States. That positions the WTGXX integration as a potential foundation for broader tokenized-fund distribution, alongside other moves to connect regulated funds with digital-asset infrastructure, including institutional tokenized-fund distribution initiatives in Asia.
For now, the key milestone is the launch of the MoonPay-supported access point itself. Actual adoption will become measurable only after eligible investors begin using the new channel and MoonPay starts deploying WTGXX within its stablecoin reserve management, making transaction volumes, fund inflows and reserve allocations more meaningful indicators than the partnership announcement alone.
